Thanx all for the info/help.
Ian,
Thanx for pointing out that MG Cycle has those frame to header pipe
clamps, just saw them on the website and they are the exact ones I was
going to bid on on e-bay. Glad I didn't bid because they sold for $21,
and the chrome looked bad, will gladly pay $3 more for brand new ones.
Will take Mark's advice also and tighten up the exhaust nuts when hot,
and also install these clamps, think that will give me some piece of
mind that they won't work loose.
Thanx Again All, what a great board this is!

Hi Keith, I went with the locking ones on my 70 Ambo but have the standard ones on my 69 Ambo. So far both have held fast. What I do is smear the threads with high temp Permatex sealant. Seems to work well. What I really need is a decent wrench that will fit the ring notches. I plan on making one but would prefer to buy one if the price was reasonable. One problem I have had is that the header gets loose. The nut is tight but I guess not tight enough so the header can move a bit. There is a long distance from the header to the muffler so I went with getting a set of the header to frame brackets. I bought mine from MG Cycle for $12 each and I am sure the other shops like MG Classics has them as well. Hope this helps...Ian
