Geez Mike,
I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you need to talk the old girl a little
more nicely :-)
All kidding aside. I'm really sorry to hear that you can't seem to get the
bike running right. There is a solution to your problem though.
If the problem is on one cylinder only then I would give the carbs another
cleaning (my perfectly clean carb had a piece of fluff in the idle jet that
caused the problems that you refer to...but only on one side) and check the
float adjustment. Also take the accelerator assembly apart. There is a
spring inside there that has some purpose....although I don't know what.
If the problem is in both cylinders then I would think the problem is
ignition but I don't know what it could be. Maybe a grounding problem? I had
a intermittent grounding problem on my 70 Ambo project. Was driving me nuts
till I found out what it was.
If you think that the problem is in the carbs (worn slides etc...) then give
Dave Otis a call. Maybe he can lend you a set of carbs that you can hook on
to see if that is your problem. Then you would at least know where your
probs lay. I would lend you a set if I had one.
Of course....let me know what you find out.
Good luck and give a holler if you have other questions.
Ian
