I have the distributor at home now, thinking perhaps the points aren't grounding do to the oil and dirt on the plate that they attach to. Just had a somewhat similar problem with my Ambo, and found it
to be very dirty in the distributor. I took the plate out that the
points sit on, and cleaned it, and everything under it with good
contact cleaner and Q-tips. Put it back together with new points
(old ones were getting very pitted) and a new condenser. Runs
great now, but with having changed three variables am not sure
which it was causing the problem. I'd just change the condenser if
I were you. Good luck,
