I had the same problem years ago. I tried many things but nothing.
Eventually an idea that worked........Grind off any chrome or plating.
Weld the exaust pipe to the nut and then you have a LOT of leverage.
Mine loosend off that way. I then cut the pipes close to the cylinders
and finished loosening with a pipe wrench. I new I had to put new pipes
on as mine were rusty and it is much cheaper to put on new than
rechroming, especially since many shops will not rechrome old exaust
pipes.
