So what is the best way to size them? I just put new pipes and mufflers on
my 68 and I need to replace all the nuts...

Hi Ross,
I think the diameter is a definite contributing factor. A reader
mentioned that in the TIPS II book I was reading last evening as the
wife watched the last episode of "The Apprentice" (don't even get me
started on 'reality' shows).

An e-mail posted to the Norton list regarding loosening exhaust nuts raised an interesting question. One lister started measuring exhaust nuts front different sources and found the diameters all over the board. He measured a difference of almost 0.02 in diameter. Besides the steel v. bronze issue, could this be part of the problem with loosing exhaust nuts on Guzzis? Regards, Ross K.
