Hi Keith,
Is your lever chromed or just natural aluminum? My '69's is chromed (and
the lever turns up at the end), others I have are polished aluminum with
a straight lever. MG Cycle sells one that is as close as you'll get to
original. You'll have to drill a new anchor hole, about 90* around from
the original. Polishes up beautifully.
Should be a 7mm bolt with 11mm hex-head, my 1/4" drive Craftsman socket
fits tightly. Depending on the bolt length, a spacer is used
(sometimes). I've also seen one that used a shouldered bolt instead of
the spacer. Some levers seem to have had a 8mm thick x 24mm (or so)
spacer under them (between the perch and lever base) to raise it up far
enough to clear the thottle when the lever is pulled back. Cheers,

Hi Keith, If memory serves, it's either an 11mm or 12mm head on it. I think my standard 1/4" drive craftsman sockets reach it just fine. Also, and I'll need confirmation from the wiser souls on the list for this one, I believe that originally there may have been a 'pipe' spacer under the head so that the head extended below the perch. From top to bottom, you would have had: choke perch pipe spacer bolt Can anyone else confirm this? Keith Ruff wrote:
