How about an A and a C for Aperto and Chiuso (open and close).
How about an A and an R for Anticipo and Ritardo. (many of these same levers
were just borrowed from the earlier, manual advance magnetos on the single
cylinder Guzzi. The choke control lever on my old single says A and R.
