I drained the oil, didn't see anything unusual, but the oil was
pretty black so it could be easy to miss. I guess I'll drop the
pan, easier than puling the heads I guess. As much as I hate the
idea of pulling the motor/tranny again I guess I'm hoping its
just a bad seal.
It is not gear oil as it has a distinctive enough smell to
identify. I wiped everything down and the oil reappeared in the
vent hole at the bottom of the engine/tranny mating surface so
I'm pretty sure its coming from the seal or one of the bolts or
something.

You can drain the oil and see if anything "glints" in there. Maybe get lucky(unlucky) and some flakes. Kev |
