MessageActually Paul, I didn't have a beer until after I'd messed with it for about an hour. the thread on the pins are fine, I ran the jam nuts over both from end to end to make sure. I think it's side loading from the slightly askew swingarm that is drawing it at an angle.

Anybody have trouble getting the swingarm spindle pins to start straight? I'm having trouble getting the LH pin to start and go in straight. I borrowed the tap from Greg Bender (thanks again Greg) and chased the threads because I thought that maybe powder coating on the threads may have contributed.
But I'm still having trouble with that side.
Anybody have tips on getting things to line up? I am putting it back on with the wheel still attached (left it on when I took it apart to pull the trans.)
