I have a policy of not messing about with bikes prior to a long trip.
Today I changed the oil (but not the filter, I didn't drop the pan) and
added the Topeak bicycle speedo that has lain in a box since Christmas.
Here are the specs on the Topeak:

I ground the supplied magnet to a wafer and then had to cut it in half
to get it to clear my F09 caliper - Not a lot of clearance and my
mounting positions were limited by the length of supplied wire and my
desire for an inconspicuous mount. I cut a piece of ally to create a
mounting bracket. Even unpainted it is not too ugly. Notice the magnet
glued to the rotor at the bottom of the picture.

The display is quite large but fits nicely between the handlebar clamps.
It will be awhile before I get used to all the functions.

I don't ride much at night but one or two of those light-up bolts would
solve the illumination problem if I decide to go that way.
