Hi Ted,
Try scuffing the surface of the shoes and drum with some sandpaper (120
grit or so)- just enough to break the glaze. Also, dab a little grease
on the actuating cam where it contacts each shoe. Hope this helps.

My rear brake was making horrible noises, I took it apart and sprayed brake cleaner over all the appropriate surfaces and used a dremel to grind off the ridge on the edge where the brake shoe wasn't making contact with the drum, put it back together and it was great for a few miles then started doing it again. It not only sounds terrible, but I can feel it vibrating through my foot. Do I just need new pads or what? |
