Hi Ron,
Probably wasn't "over-muscle" but rather the threads were deformed
slightly by the factory (what I meant by peening) to insure the plug
stays put. Have seen plugs peened as well though. Dave R. recommends a
thread locking compound instead of mechanical means to keep it there.

The biggest tap I have w/a 1.25 pitch is 10mm so I guess it's dig-dig-scrape-scrape for me, sigh! That will teach me (again) no to over-muscle threaded fittings! Ron |
