Subject: Electrical - dash lights

Guys - looking for inspiration (ideas) - hopefully this
will be obvious to someone. Symptoms:
1974 Eldo Police (disk)
1. Neutral light stays on at all times switch is on -
regardless of gear (even neutral). 2 wires on the switch.
Ground fault?
2. Generator light. Put on the Nolan/Field alternator -
triple checked wiring. Battery is charging, bike runs
great, no generator light, ever. I pulled light from under
dash and checked - yep - 12v on the red wire with switch
on. However - if I ground the light socket at the red wire
connector with switch on - magic, it lights. Ground fault?
All other dash lights, handlebar controls, signals, brake
lights, work as normal.
Something common here? I can't see anything obvious, bike
runs fine, no spitzen & sparken.
