I did not remove the cam plug for fear of screwing things up so I just
jb welded over the top and smoothed it down with a pallet knife.

Hi Bill,

You definitely need to use washers on the six bolts that hold the
flywheel to the crankshaft. Schnoor washers are the latest and greatest
- they replace the knuckle-bleeding bend tabs that originally came on
these bikes. MG Cycle sells the ones you need (8mm). Use the red
lock-tite, too.

I've not JB Welded the cam plug on my Ambo and it doesn't leak. But, I
know lot's of guys do. I think Mark does it pretty much every time as a
precaution to prevent oil leaks from this location. I suppose if I
worked on as many loops as Mark does, I would too. I'm guessing at the
procedure, but I think you simply pry the cam plug out, apply JB Weld to

the mating surface, and push it back in. While you are in there, it's
probably a good idea to do it.

One thing I am concerned about,...as someone suggested, I plan on using
red lock-tite on the bolts that hold the clutch to the crankshaft, but I

noticed that there weren't any lock washers included in the RAM clutch,
but the picture on the sheet that came with the clutch shows them.
Should I get some or will the lock-tite be enough? I hate the thoughts
of tearing it apart again some time later just to put lock washers on
it, not to mention the potential damage that could occur if it comes
loose.
Another thing, some have mentioned using JB Weld on the camshaft plug.
Is this really necessary? If so, why?
