Last weekend I installed new Wirth fork springs and a new set of the
13.25" Ikon shocks (thanks, MG Cycle). Wow, what a difference! The bike
handles much better with slightly quicker steering and I really
appreciate the additional ground clearance (which I even found forgiving
of the Dunstalls replicas mounted wide and low when I didn't choose the
best line through some curves). I'm no suspension expert by any stretch
of the imagination, but I'm very happy with my upgrades. Originally, I
had the stock fork springs and a very cheap set of 12.5" shocks on the
rear (less than $50). Why didn't I make this upgrade long before now?!?
Now, I just need to find a completely free Saturday that I can go ride
around and play with all the settings on the Ikon shocks. :>
