dark(cut) to light (shine) on compounds. pull against the wheel for
cut, with the wheel for shine. buy the best wheels available, they will
not fall apart when you push on them. a quality 8" wheel will be more
than $20.00...the ones i bought last cost almost 30 a piece, but don't
throw anything but compound - no strings everywhere..and they last
forever..keep a good grip and gloves..

I was a shop major in high school but forgot when to use the white sticks, yellow, brown etc. And then what does one do to coat metal to retard further oxidation after the polishing is completed.
