Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I brag about our lack of government inspection and interference here in NM a #$%&# gov't inspector shows up at our job site yesterday and red tagged it :( I take it all back, NM is a model of governmental control, interference, and nosiness! knock on wooden head. ;)

In Michigan you can either buy "Historic Vehicle" plates for around $40
that don't have to be renewed for 10 years, or you can get an actual old
plate from the year that your bike (or car) was made and register that
on your vehicle for $30 and it never has to be renewed (you have to send
a photocopy of the plate so that they can make sure that it is not still
registered). I opted for the latter on my '65 Mustang and I just got
some old plates at a swapmeet for one of my Eldos and the V7 Sport. The
only catch is that you are technically only supposed to ride/drive these
vehicles to/from a club event but I have never had any trouble from the
fuzz. Also, Michigan has no inspection anymore.
