Here in Nebraska they have "Historic" plates that never expire but are
UGLY blue letters on white tin.
I opted for the "Year of Manufacture" plate.
This is where you get a plate from the Year your bike was Manufactured
(1970, $86.00) and bring it in for them to verify the plate is still
usable and they assign that plate to your bike.
We don't require safety inspections in Nebraska.

Here in Jersey, I put "Historic" plates on my Eldo ($41.00 and a photo), and an inspection is no longer required. Any other states have such a deal, and why not take advantage of that while we're all riding 30+ year old bikes? Cam in NJ '74 Eldo Police |
