Ray et al, You didn't misinterpret much Ray, I simply don't like HD Corp.
My last remark about "Ride Guzzi...." was tounge in cheek though because I
was mocking out HD marketing. I won't apologize but no problem with any
slam toward me Ray, I can take it; I did dish it out. I just get tired of
the Harley corporate juggernaut and the psychological sway they have by all
the big money they spend on advertising. And, I get tired of the "bigger
and louder is better" message that HD loves to push, directly or indirectly.
At any rate I am good with whatever you used to ride, ride now or will ride.
And, believe me, I am the last person to want to start a war of any kind but
I will continue to chat on this or that from time to time. Thanks, Bob

I may have totally misinterpreted the comments I responded to. My intent
was not to defend Harley or anything else but to say "why start a brand
war with comments like that?" Of course everyone can state their opinion
freely but why do the "my brand is good, the others suck" at all on this
list? I was hoping to stop it but apparently accelerated it some. Not my
intent at all so I'll stop now.
Joe probably hit it on the head with... "seems like most of us need a
good a nice sunny dry road day to ride. if it
is cold who cares". Cabin fever abounds. Right now both my Harley and
my Guzzi suck because I can't ride!!!

bullshit. Ray, I read that as being "tongue in cheek", as a joke. I agree with almost all that you said, and think most of the others probably do too. Let's not have brand wars. BTW, I used to have a '69 type two, a base model camper. I put a fuelie engine from a later type 3 in it, which improved both the power and the economy a little. It was an easy conversion, but since I am not skilled at body work I was not able to get it to pass the PA state inspection, and so decided to sell it when I moved here. Oh, well, I don't miss it nearly as much as my super beetle or my VW pickup (that brought home my first guzzi - my Ambo). -Mike (69 ambo, 77 vert) ===== M.Jones, associate editor, Journal for the Study of Religions and Ideologies (http://hiphi.ubbcluj.ro/JSRI/) "The heart has its reasons which reason does not know." -Blaise Pascal "With man, instinct and reason avoid each other with adversity, yet, by repudiating each other they lure each other to reach mutual correction." -Lucian Blaga __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
