Ray, I read that as being "tongue in cheek", as a
joke. I agree with almost all that you said, and think
most of the others probably do too. Let's not have
brand wars.
BTW, I used to have a '69 type two, a base model
camper. I put a fuelie engine from a later type 3 in
it, which improved both the power and the economy a
little. It was an easy conversion, but since I am not
skilled at body work I was not able to get it to pass
the PA state inspection, and so decided to sell it
when I moved here. Oh, well, I don't miss it nearly as
much as my super beetle or my VW pickup (that brought
home my first guzzi - my Ambo).
