Tom:
The newest project is a '47 Indian Chief, I''ve got it down to the
painted frame, front forks and shocks are rebuilt, I'm getting ready to
go .030 over on the cylinders, the guy who built it up before me built
it to 80" (stock was 76") and it required some machining of the pistons
to fit, it'll be kind of a hot rod.
I just finished putting some photos of it on one of my albums, you can
see them here

for the rest of the stable (and some Guzzi content) you could take a
look here

She nursed it to the next rest stop where I found that one piston had shut down. After determining that it was still getting gas and spark and that there was nothing else to do, we fired it up and she limped it about 40 miles to Mid-Ohio on one cylinder. The autopsy revealed that for some reason the valve kissed the top of the piston and bent it enough to hold it open. After mentioning the cost of a new valve to my machinist brother, he insisted that he bend it back. 5000 miles later and that valve is still in there. John Prusnek |
