Chevy small block valves will work if you cut the stem lenght down and recut
the keeper groove. I did a complete valve job on my Ambo for $40 years ago
by adapting common automotive parts.

She nursed it to the next rest stop where I found that one piston had shut down. After determining that it was still getting gas and spark and that there was nothing else to do, we fired it up and she limped it about 40 miles to Mid-Ohio on one cylinder. The autopsy revealed that for some reason the valve kissed the top of the piston and bent it enough to hold it open. After mentioning the cost of a new valve to my machinist brother, he insisted that he bend it back. 5000 miles later and that valve is still in there. John Prusnek
