Ted,
The oil pump gear is held on by a nut. the oil pump shaft is tapered and has
a keyway. If you have the Eldo parts book , look at plate #4. The pump bolts
on from the front, so the gear has to be able to come off to remove it.

Are all the timing gears regular threads? None of them are reverse are they?
Want to make sure before I start trying to remove bolts. Also, what is the
screw in the middle of the oil pump gear for?
