As Bill said, remove the belt cover, pulley, nut and then front engine mount
bolt. Then you can remove the timing chain cover so you can do your thing.
Remember to drain the oil first or you will have a mess everywhere.

Ted.. timing chain?... or generator belt? on an Eldo? you remove the belt
cover and top pully comes off with spacer, shims for tension... you
mentioned 'timing', so if you're talking chain, you have to remove the 'big'
nut as I call it (26mm)... there's a tool you can use to hold the shaft, or
you can fashion a makeshift tool. Then remove the lower engine frame bolt,
then the timing chain cover... it's been awhile... I'll look
around...there's a detailed description on one of the guzzi sites (maybe the
mgnoc site)... other's will chime in I'm sure.

Guys, I don't have a manual for my bike, so I ask these questions here. (I
have the download from Greg Benders site, but it doesn't have a lot of '74
specific stuff)

To access the timing belt on my bike, do I need to pull the engine? If not,
do I just take of the generator belt cover and remove the pulley, or is
there more to it than that?

Thanks
Ted Ward
