Ted.. timing chain?... or generator belt? on an Eldo? you remove the
belt cover and top pully comes off with spacer, shims for tension...
you mentioned 'timing', so if you're talking chain, you have to remove
the 'big' nut as I call it (26mm)... there's a tool you can use to
hold the shaft, or you can fashion a makeshift tool. Then remove the
lower engine frame bolt, then the timing chain cover... it's been
awhile... I'll look around...there's a detailed description on one of
the guzzi sites (maybe the mgnoc site)... other's will chime in I'm sure.

Guys, I don't have a manual for my bike, so I ask these questions
here. (I have the download from Greg Benders site, but it doesn't
have a lot of '74 specific stuff)

To access the timing belt on my bike, do I need to pull the engine?
If not, do I just take of the generator belt cover and remove the
pulley, or is there more to it than that?
