Thanks Ron.
By your in depth info I can rest assured that it is doable anyway.
Actually I would be interested in the T rear wheel setup but can't seem
to find one. My rear drive splines are shot so the cush drive would be a
great move. Am I correct in thinking that the crown wheel carrier and
rear wheel with brake assembly would be all I need to make that switch?
Thanks form your help.

Hacksaw, I modified a DLS front brake & used it on the rear of my Eldo for a while, it was a small, but noticeable improvement in braking. I changed it out for an 850T rear wheel to gain the cush drive. My friend Cliff is running the DLS rig on his Eldo now. My best memory is that I had to add a mount for the torque rod, and make up a special arm so the rear brake rod could operate the DLS linkage. I cut the top half off of the stock DLS arm and a stock SLS rear brake arm, then had the SLS top half heli-arc welded to the DLS bottom half. For the torque arm I mounted a bolt in one of the two casting extensions that engage the tab on the front forks in the normal DLS front brake. I think I also had to cut a little relief groove in finning inside the wheel, I'm not sure about that, you'll be able to tell when you trial fit, and add a spacer (basically a thick washer) on the axle. I can ask Cliff to take some pictures & send them to me for posting if you think that would help. Ron Komoroski . |
