I think it was 40w chopper fork oil !

I found 30w but wanted to see what the heavy stuff would do and its
great

Steven, you are a genius! I never thought that this would be the
problem
but it must be. I have no fork oil left in my forks, so that must be
it.
Now, when you say "heavy weight" what viscosity are you referring to?
Thanks again. Bob

Yes I've been there ! I put heavy weight Harley fork oil in the forks
on the Ambo and it took the slapping away !

Hi Folks,
I'd like some suggestions on what to look for- my eldo has developed a
front end 'knock' when I go over (rough) bumps. I *think* its when the
forks extend rather than compress, but I could be wrong. Any ideas on
what it might be? It's not the triple clamps or steering head, that
would've been too easy. Besides, it seems to handle just fine and I
cannot reproduce the noise parked in the driveway. I never have taken a

set of forks apart, so any advice on that front is welcome too. Does
anyone have a spare top-tube cap so I can make the special tool that is
apparently required? Aren't motorcycles fun?
