Steve, Yeah, ride the piss out of that Loop for as long as you can, until
she stops. Man, I am envious of you right now, New York is already wet and
winter will be here soon. New Mexico sounds warmer and more ride worthy.
And. yeah nipping away at the float in the center may do the trick, hadn't
thought of that. Keep us informed. Bob

Bob,
Just got back from a nice 2 hr spin through the mountains. Got the PB
Blaster at NAPA it's soaking in now. The carb on the other side came apart
easy, just enough pin to get a hold on. I agree about shaving the end of
the float, what I was thinking was use the Dremel to make a little gap in
the middle of the float hinge where I could grip it with the needle nose and
then slide it sideways enough to get a grip on it and pull it out. But I
went for a ride instead :-) In case you didn't know New Mexico is known as
the land of "manana" .
Steve

STEVE/BRETT - Brett is right you could shave some of the float away and
with needle nose grip the pin and try to move it sideways out the hole but
then when you reassemble the float may not stay centered on the pin, because
it no longer has the same dimensions and may then not be able to seat the
needle valve correctly. Brett, do you agree? I'm just speculating. Bob

I had that same problem with both of carbs on Dreamcycle. Only one side of
supports/hangers is drilled. I came up with two options: Drill the other
side very carefully so that you can push is out with a small pin or 2.) this
one I used...with a Dremel cutting disk, I shaved just a bit of the float
and then into the pin so with a pointer I could push out the pin enough to
grab with needle nose. This, of course, was after several drenchings with PB
Blaster...good luck, and remember those aluminum supports are probably kinda
easy to break! Brett in Indy
