Earlier this year the camshaft timing gear in my Ambassador broke while
I was enjoying a two-day trip throughout northern and northwestern
Minnesota.
Since that time, my wife and I have moved from the Minneapolis area to
Tampa, Florida, Angela has started a new job, we've been busy selling
and buying homes, and we have our first baby on the way sometime in the
middle of November. As you can imagine, I've had plenty to do.
We've been in our new home for two weeks now. Last Sunday, I was able to
get a replacement set of timing gears installed and the Ambassador came
back to life! The joy was immense as I took the old girl out for a spin.
I own a 2000 Quota in addition to the Ambassador. When it comes to
technical comparisons, the Quota easily stands out as superior. But,
there is just something about riding on the loop frames that makes me
forget all about those technical data sheets. It is good to be back in
the saddle again.
