I was thinking about a catch bottle, I saw a cool aluminum can breather can
with a drain on the bottom in a street rod catalog. As for riding slower, I
do allot of hwy riding here in Florida and use my bike for work. If you are
running under 70 you may get run over. I was in a car on alligator alley
last week and was doing 85 and I had cars and trucks passing me at a good
clip. I don't like to run over 80 on the goose, the big windshield makes
the front end get a little squirrelly. I am going to look into some of the
windshield buffer trim one of the guys had a link to. I am not really sure
how much oil I should be using with the Bub wedge oil pan so that may be
part of the problem. Is Bub even still in business ?

From what I have read about the deep pans and pan spacer is that they keep the oil level out of the cranks rotation to help reduce excessive splashing. I always make sure not to over fill the oil level. I have never had the pan off the motor, so I don't know how the pick up lines run to the external oil filter. If I ever get around to taking the pan off I may try to come up with something. |
Hey Skip, I would think that a windage plate (ala Pete Roper) would help keep the frothing down, perhaps eliminating your problem. http://www.guzzitech.dk/english/go under "Technical" in the left nav and then select "The complex stuff" - you'll see windage plates on that page.
