Jeff, The battery that finally went bad on my Ambo had a vent with vent
tube. Luckily there is no evidence that it ever overflowed. The new garden
tractor battery I got is liquid inside but is said to be "maintenance free"
and has no vent or vent tube. Isn't technology wonderful?! BOb

what about venting issues with the tractor batteries?
I recall someone saying vented batteries can corrode
the sidecovers/frame/etc?
