Matt:
I have separate relays for hi and lo in my headlight shell and two more
(spots and horn) in the police dash. If yours is a police dash, I
recommend mounting them there. Each relay has a mounting tab. Attach
one to each of the two mounting screws for the speedo.

anybody have any suggestions on where to mount/put relays in the headlight shell? I have used the extra metal pieces in the horn kit (flat pieces with holes at either end 3/4"x2.5-3"). I bent one end to go behind the fuse panel. The other end I mount the relay to. They are angled a little over 90 degrees, so they stay to the outside of the shell and out of the way of the headlight. (these are the hi/lo relays for the headlight). I still need to mount the horn relay. I was thinking of hiding it in the area at the pointy end of the shell, behind the fuse panel, but then it'd be hard to get at. There is only room of the side brackets for the one relay, otherwise I'd double 'em up. Any ideas? BTW, the reason I did not relocate the fuse panel et.al. to the toolboxes is because I am using a repro original wiring harness because I didn't want to have to figure everything out by myself. :) Matt in MI |
