Hi,
My new gilardoni (hey, did I get it right?) jugs and pistonis have
arrived. There is a piece of paper in the box that says "Importanti!"
but of course not being bilingual, except semi-fluent in ig-pay
atin-lay, I can't decipher the damn thing.
It appears to be concerning the rings and if I had to guess it is a
warning about staggering gaps or something like that but from the
diagram, it could be something entirely different and importanti.
Is there anything tricky, related to the nikasil, about either the jugs,
pistons, rings, or pins and clips, they are trying to tell me? Do I use
the same ring gaps as the book indicates for chrome jugs? There is no
numerical data on the info sheet. Just wordies.
What does the collective like for base gasket install...dry or sticky
goop or just plain oil, like I have preferred in the distant past?
Trying to keep up, ya know?
It also appears from the Italian info sheet that these cylinders are
used for a wide variety of models and years. Just guessing from the
non-readable text, though. The pushrod holes are different, larger,
oblong. Does this account for the interchangability?
Thanks
Ray
