I've got a 'Normal' and a 'Reserve' fuel taps on my Eldo (the taps are
made by Orlandi (sp?)) - they are marked on the tap themselves. And the
Normal one only fits the left side and the Reserve only fits the right
side which really doesn't make much sense. For when you need to switch
over to reserve, you need to use your right hand. I have done it once
but at least it wasn't in heavy, fast traffic.

Ever since I can remember reserve on a loop has been "one side on-one side
off". The off side will hold enough fuel for 30 + or - miles depending on
your fuel mileage. I use the right hand tap to run on and the left side for
reserve. Never had a problem. This will not work if you have eliminated the
fuel cross-over from the lines.

Subject: Loop fuel taps

Several weeks ago I posted a message inquiring about replacement
petcocks for my Ambo's tank--the tank's threads were stripped.

In any case, I found some petcocks sold by Storz Performance, Inc that
fit 1/4 N.P.T. threads. I tapped the bosses (?) on the tank to fit, put
some sealant on, screwed the taps in, and we were good to go.

They're pretty cheap, too, about $15 ea, but no reserve. P# 53030 (90
deg) or 53035 (straight)
