I use a later model tranny breather with a built in place for a hose...run
about 6"/8'' of hose straight up along the inside of the sidecover....no
more problems....

That's a good idea- you should forward it to Greg Field for his 'tips'
section. My only concern would be fouling the fuel filter with heavy
oil, resulting in overpressurizing the tranny.
