First thing first. Congrats on the bike. Do the frame and engine numbers
match? Ambo is 750 with 4 speed and Eldo is 850 with 5 speed. There is a
tool available for removing the swing arm "axles" and I think MG Cycle
has them or you could ask Stephen Brenton really nicely to make one for
you. :) He is our very own old tool revival guy.

Guzzi...left valve cover off (apparently in the rain at times) for over

years....I love it. Was a bit odd when I removed motor drain plug and
watched what
looked like a few quarts of water come out before the liquid turned
black....OK there was some oil in there also!! Anyway, got a couple of
questions for the
group...excuse my lack of MG knowledge at this point..but, the bike was
manufactured 10/71, has a four speed transmission and the "waffle" type
engine
block. Is this an Ambassador or an Eldorado? What is the difference
between the
two? Also, I have the whole bike stripped down to front wheel still on
the
frame/swingarm with bottom end and tranny still on. Am still waiting for
shop
manual....Have swingarm to the point of exposing the two "axles" with
the two small
holes exposed. How do these come out? Special tool required? Thanks to
all....Brett in Indiana
