just keep adding throttle!!!!
I find low range best around town...then I only snick
into hi range when I know I'm getting on the big slab,
and then do it before 30mph...another often overlooked
point...the owners manual says to pull clutch, rev a
bit to lossen/free the trans/clutch, then
shift...I've got K&N filters and BUBs with 125 main
jet and bring the timing at idle down to the D and S
marks...be sure to get the right advance springs,
too...my second convert had the LeMan springs and it
pulled like crud...I have had bad/old spark plug wires
slow things up, too...as always...Guzziology

so i been doing things right - no shifting/no clutch/ no nothing on my convert. (5000 miles in last 3 months) like a giant moped, i love it. but not as cool as my ambo, but it stops!.,. how can i improve throttle response? i've had no problem at highway speeds. should i just deal with 0-40mph response (feels like a truck...) i know a 1000cc should drag me around like an overpowered tractor.. my 71 ambo (850/5 speed ) will yank my arms off. i'm going to the ohio rally this weekend - hopefully someone there will help me tweak it to run like a big vtwin should? on aside note: never been to ohio rally - i'll be the youngest one there probably - it would be nice if someone would help me make my convert run at 110%. or if i bring ambo = looking for 200%! |
