Hi Helge,
My '69 Ambo does the same thing once in a while. For me it's the starter
button not making good enough contact. Try a few things:

- turn the part of the button that you press a little and see if that
makes any difference,
- remove the two screws that hold the button assembly together and then
polish the brass contacts inside,
- replace the button with a new one from your favorite supplier over
there or MG Cyclehttp://www.mgcycle.com(only $10 from them).

Inside the button assembly is just a little brass circular contact that
connects the two terminals. This usually gets slightly burned or
corroded from arcing, particularly if there is no starter relay like on
my Ambo. I make a habit of turning the button a bit each time I ride so
it contacts a slightly different place each time. You can check to see
if this is the problem by removing the rubber boot over the wires to the
button and jumping the terminals with a screwdriver or remote starter
button. Hope this helps! Cheers,

Charlie

Greetings all

When I was about to ride home from work the other day, the starter was
just clicking when I pressed the starter button (Can't tell if the click

was from the relay or the solenoid). The starter motor wouldn't turn.
(The day before the battery was charged to full).
Scratching my beard for a minut and tried again - still just a click.
Went kinda mad and pressed the starter button several times - "click,
click, click, wrraaoooom" Hey! Let's ride home now!

What to look for here? Should I change the Marelli motor to a Valeo (I
already have it stocked)?
Or is it more likely the relay?

Yours sincerely
Helge H.
