I hate to be anti-Canadian (after all they did not side with the US on the Iraqi thingy...but we won't go there :-)) but we're all going to Virginy. How about you dial in the compas to point south with a little east. We could very easily have 20 Loops there.

I thought all loops were going to the Ontario rally that weekend. Leon Karlak --- andy hill <alh-@adelphia.net> wrote:

Gary,
You going to get time to come to the Virginia
Rally at the end of June? Why
don't you and Tom shovel the snow from the drive
and ride down. I'll be
there.....Andy Hill, Charlie (I think) too. Should
be a good Loop turn out.

Leon and Allen , Email me your addresses and I
will send you some
relays. JC Whitney sells a REAL GOOD quality H-4 lamp
assembly . It is sold as
the one with a leaded crystal lens. I use old
Cibie H'lights and they
are near impossible to find . The Whitney light
looks for all the world
to have been made by the Cibie company or FOR
them. It has real high
quality glass and exceptional silvering. The
light is priced well below
the Hella lamp that is actually not as well made
(IMHO).
By all means do the relay conversion and as
already suggested a
separate feed to the bat is a real good idea .
Since the control voltage
for the relay coils is coming from the original
headlight supply there
will still be no worry of leaving the light on
by accident.
Take the time to clean and lube the 169 switch
in any event. Most of
the 169 failures stem from dirty contacts and/or
a plunger spring that
has lost it's strength due to rust or heating.
Clean all traces of
corrosion and lube with a bit of anti sieze on
the cotact surfaces and
pivot points. The 169 will serve many years if
maintained or it can go
up in a whiff as soon as lack of maintenance
catches up with you.
