 crisscross pattern so that nothing gets warped due to one bolt holding
all those clutch springs down.

Not only is the flywheel indexed to the crank, the clutch plates with
teeth on the outside (can't remember what they are called) are also
indexed to the flywheel. There is a dimple on one of the teeth that is
lined up with a mark on the flywheel.

Guzziology has instructions on how to put everything back together
along with some upgrades such as using Schnoor washers on the flywheel
bolts.

I was refering to the ring gear. I am not going to pull the flywheel.
One day I heard the engine sounded funny while it was running. The
started relay was closed and the starter was spinning. Really did a
number on the teeth. I will just put a small clock in it and hang it in
the house somewhere!
