Hi Fred,
The bearing sould spin freely when cleaned up. If it is tight or binding it
may be on the way out! Make sure it is REALLY clean and try again. I use a
liberal spraying of Brake Clean and then blow it out with compressed air.
Make sure not to spin the bearing with the air gun. It will gall the
bearing surfaces.
Hope it is OK. That bearing is not cheap.

I disassembled the Eldo resr drive today to clean, inspect and reseal, and the big ball bearing seems to have quite a bit of drag, even after the seal was removed. Are these supposed to spin freely?
