Fluke also makes a AC/DC current clamp that has a digital meter built in.
It's model number is 337. Don't remember the price though. I use it at work
all the time on batteries. Can do current from 0-1000amps on both AC and DC.
Voltage wise it goes up to 600v.

Fluke makes AC/DC clamp on current probes. I use a model Y8100 on the job. It'll read up to 200 amps and outputs a proportional voltage that can be read with your VOM. Good Stuff, but prolly pretty expensive. I'm pretty sure that my Fluke 77 will read up to 10 amps directly. The 87 I use at work reads up to 10 amps.
