I'd go with a Fluke. They can be expensive, but some can be gotten in the
$50 ballpark.
I've also got some cheepo Radio Shack small meters that I take with me on
trips and have served me well (like model 22-179 Pocket Digital
Multi-meter). Also, something that's helpful in a multimeter is an Amp
Meter with does not always come in the less expensive meters.
