Take Andy up on his offer.. you can figure out how to remove the engine,
crate it, ship it
and let Andy do his magic.... my opinion... you'll be hard-pressed to
get 3k with a busted
motor.

Got the word from Dave Otis that he can't help out with the engine fix. Been reading the manual on how to pull the motor and would hate to pull it if the fix can be done while it is in the frame, would hate to waste the time doing this if it is not warranted. In addition, I don't have the time required to repair the motor nor the confidence that I will do it right without screwing something up and finding out after it is re-installed or shortly thereafter, then needing to pull it again. So I am on the fence with 2 choices: 1. Have it fixed. Problem is, no mechanics in the area. One choice is a newcomer in Brooklyn NY, about 2+ hours away, but I don't have confidence going to him nor like the area he is in. My gut says no, but he is my only real choice. Dave in NY did say he is OK though, so that is a plus. Other issue is any time I have a problem with this bike, there is no mechanics around to help. 2. Sell the bike and have the nightmare be over. Problem is I have more than $4K invested already, is it possible to get at least $3K in it's current state? Confused and Depressed in NJ. Keith Ruff 71 Police Ambassador - NJ |
