I figured out it is definitely coming out of that seal (don't know what it's called) that moves in and out when you pull the clutch, on the back case of the trans. It is wet/grimy, and after a ride, the gear oil leaks down and drips off the rear case. Is there some sort of gear oil seal sweller to fix this or does it flat out need to be changed? How hard/how much to fix? Last question, I'm still getting a metallic |
There is an O ring that needs to be replaced. You need to pull the clutch
lever from the back of the trans, and then pull out the little plug it
pushes on.
I'm pretty sure you can pull this without haveing to move the engine.
Replace the O ring on the plug and your leak should go away. If the stuff
coming out between the engine and trans is transmission fluid, you need to
pull the clutch push rod, whoick cold probably be done by removing the
motor mount bolts, the fender and rear wheel and jacking up the back of
the engine so that the rod will clear. Guzzi makes a cone shaped seal of
which you need two to to seal this. The flared part of the cone should
point to the back of the bike
Good luck!!
