*sigh* and so it starts. I knew it woould happen eventually. someone just
had to start beating someone else over the head with greg's fine book. next
it will become as bad as the anal BMW /5 and /2 restoration groups.

" Late in 1968 a revised version of the V-700 was introduced in Europe.Changes include a WHITE paint scheme with revised pinstriping ,a rectangular taillight like the one on V-700 prototypes, and a reshaped seat. Some of these were brought to the United States but with the round taillight. From what I understand SOME = a total of 5 of them. These were just before the early Ambos. I passed on one of the early Ambos at VMD this year. The guy had a photo of it but did not bring it along. He only wanted $600 for it and it had a VERY low serial number (one digit!). This bike is a for sure 700 cc , white, original 1968 V-700.It is different enough to be interesting to me. A real plus is it only has 1100 original miles :-} ! I still prefer a real clean ORIGINAL with a good patina to a restored or customized machine. A hold over from my old car days . Ian Adkins wrote:
