You know, I know 'em when I hold 'em. I've had two Ambos with all the police
extra fittings, Police siren bracket, so only one tool box on the right, and
the ignition switch below left. I'll hit the plater tomorrow and take some
measurements for you to compare. The plater owes me on this one, and he has
said he would reduce my bill accordingly.
The bitch to all this is most of the platers in town are my friends, I've
known this guy since he was 18 working out of his father's shop, so I can't
really get the anger up to act like an irate customer, but I can tease the
hell out of him.
As an aside, some of you may notice a change in my signature. This comes
from the XXXX-XXXX list and the nastiness going on there. Got a guy labeling
a lot of guys "dickheads" and "twits", has a "twit-filtered" list(I am a
member). He made the mistake of being a little too rude, a little too
arrogant, and got dressed down for it. The "dickhead" list began after that.
I am so glad this list has no one like that. We are not perfect, well, we
love loopframes so maybe we are.

Ross

How do you positively ID original police bars? I have a set of handlebars I took off my Ambo several years ago. They look similar to police bars, kind of high and swept back, and the bike had some other police-style equipment on it when I got it, but wasn't ever a real police bike so far as I can tell. They would definitely need to be rechromed, but aren't bent or kinked anywhere. They have two grooved sections in the middle part of the bars, and small holes a few inches in from either end for control box locator pins. Just gathering dust here, so I'd take any reasonable offer, maybe even an unreasonable one, if you can use them. Jay |
