Subject: Tach behavior on Eldo?

Ever since I've had the Eldo the tach needle waves around during
acceleration and decel.(maybe plus/minus 800-1000 RPM) and then settles
down when RPM's stabilize. PO said this was normal for tach's of this
vintage, and I didn't know any better, but I'm starting to doubt it.
Bad ground, other connection, or bad tach, (or "normal")??? Thanks for
the input.
