Keith-
fwiw, i put my shox in pos. III, 'cause i usually have a load on, er, the
bike does. never rode it before installing the homemade preloader in the
forks, so i don't have any comparo, but with 40 wt. in the forks, it never
bottoms out or feels mushy. in fact, it rides really great. maybe your front
springs are bagged out.if i correctly recall, the preloader was a piece of 1
1/2 o.d. pvc, 1 1/2 in. long, installed under the spring. [ 1 each side].
kermit handles really well, and with mark's soft shoes on the rear, and
the leading linkage adjusted correctly on the front [thanks to whoever
posted that link!] he stops with real athority, too! funniest looking
'sport bike' ya ever saw! ;>)

Subject: Suspension Question
I mentioned this in another message, but wanted to get some feedback
from other loopers on what their suspension is like. Mine seems
bouncy/mushy up front, sort of like a cadillac with blown shocks on the
front end, hit a bump and she seems to bounce a few times before
settling down. Doesn't do much for confident cornering. Went for a
nice cruise with a friend the other eve through the Pine Barrons of NJ,
quite scenic, but frequent twisties with bumps made for some white
nuckle and slower corners than I am used to. Is this normal for a 71
Ambo suspension? I am running 30 wt Fork Oil per Mark E's
recommendation and she still has stock shocks on the rear, which are set
at adjustment 1. I thought about cranking the shocks up to #2, but
figured that might put more bounce on the front. Thoughts? Definitely
need some feedback as to how other loops handle. Ideas how to stiffen
up the bounce a bit? Cams Edlo handled nice in comparison to mine, nice
rebound, he is running stock shocks also.
