I usually don't like suggesting this, but if it's a all or nothing situation
I have no problem throwing it out there. What about a liquid, goo
gasket(wince), RTV or something like that. Messy, doesn't look great having
goo oozing from the gasket surface, it'll get ya by until the pan gaskets
are in.

Subject: Rear end leak
My Eldo has a minor leak from the rear end. It looks as though it is
coming from the sump cover, but I'd be interested to hear if there is
another seal that could be fooling me.
Anyway, Moto Int has the sump gaskets on backorder, and so I tried
cutting one. I probably used the wrong material (cork/rubber) because I
am still getting a slight leak. Now, mind you, I don't mind a drop of
oil here and there, but not spread out the back tire spread.
I tried trueing up the sump cover with a piece of glass and some 600
grit, but didn't do anything to the rear end housing. I also didn't use
any gasket sealant.
I'd certainly like to get a real gasket, but I don't really need
anything else and I can't see sending in an order for a couple of
gaskets.
Anyone have any suggestions?
